School of Dentistry

The School of Dentistry was founded in March, 1961, as the eighth dental education institute in Japan. The school has graduated its 24th class to join the previous graduates working in dental care throughout the nation.

Department of Dentistry

General education courses are offered to 1st year students on Nisshin Campus. Courses for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th year students are all offered on Kusumoto Campus, while clinical for 5th and 6th year students takes place in the Affiliated Dental Hospital.

So far, the school has achieved the highest pass rate in the national examination for dentists of all the dental schools in Japan.

The school stays ahead of the ever-progressing field of dentistry. It introduces students to the most up-to-date advances in theory, materials and technology. Students will also learn to add empathy to their theoretical and technological knowledge.

University Dental Hospital:

To provide a solid core of facilities for support of educational programs based on "patient-centered" activity, especially for senior students, the School has an Affiliated Dental Hospital. The Hospital houses eleven different departments equipped with 215 dental units and 49 beds, providing the Nagoya area with dental services. The Hospital is also affiliated with the Dental Laboratory and the Clinical Laboratory Divisions.


Affiliated Schools


Dental Technician School:

The School provides students with a broad education and in-depth training in laboratory technique and theory.

Dental Hygienist School:

The School trains students in dental hygiene and other related fields so that they will be of service to society in their chosen fields.
